children and the last day before they turned 16 years of age. "Terrese" was
granted a pension commencing 10 Nov 1884 of $8 per month $2 per month for each
child under 16. An increase to $12 per month from 19 Mar 1886.

CIVIL WAR: Military records in the National Archives indicate his dates of
service in Co D 22nd KY Inf. were 24 Oct 1861 to 30 Jun 1862. He was charged
with desertion on 22 Mar 1863. He was reported to be ill several times from Jan
through June 1862 and is listed as AWOL for Jul 1862 through Feb 1863.
The desertion charge was rescinded in 1885 and discharge date was set at 30 Jun
1862.
