Johannes’ (Hans) name was found with many spellings: von Nuett, Nuiten, Nidda, Nitta.....He was a merchant and in 1630 became marshal of the city of Landau. He seems to have owned real estate for in 1633 the widow of “Johann von Nidda, the lord marshal” paid taxes for land. The widow carried on his business after his death for in 1634 we find listed among the expenses of the city also “6 Gulden to marshal Job v. Nida’s widow for “13 Rhatschuene und 5 Viertel Schonnaegel zu Kutschraedern.”
