In a legal action of the city of Aix-la-Chapelle, Eberhard von Nuett appears in 1556, declaring to have been born and raised in Aix-la-Chapelle, and to be about 50 years old.

“Eberhard is the ancestor of the present Nida. Due to the difficulties caused the adherents of the Lutheran faith in Aix, it is believed that Eberhard, with his son Abraham, emigrated to Landau. We know of other blood relatives who embraced the evangelical faith, but remained in Aix-la-Chappelle.”
