Steven E. Ulm, age 44, of Patoka, IL., formerly of Noble, died at 2:07 a.m., Friday, December 19, 1997 at St. Mary’s Hospital.
Funeral service were held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 22 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Sandoval, with Rev. Fr. Chuck Tuttle officiating. Burial was in Patoka Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Patoka Fire & Ambulance Service.
Mr. Ulm was born October 30, 1953 in Olney, IL., the son of Robert and LaVern (Hasler) Ulm. He married Brenda S. Buerster on May 11, 1974 in Wendelin, IL.
Mr. Ulm was employed by Chicap Pipeline Company as a pipeline operator since 1976. He was also a fertilizer spreader for Woolsey Farm Service and Tune Trucking, both of Patoka. He was a member of the St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Sandoval. He was the assistant Junior High Basketball Coach for the Patoka School District. He was a former Patoka Village Board member, serving from 1987 to 1991. He also served on the Patoka Fire Department for over 10 years.
Suvivors include his wife, Brenda Ulm, Patoka, IL.; two daughters, Stephanie and Courtney Ulm, both of Patoka, IL.; his mother, LaVern Ulm, Noble; two brothers, Gary Ulm and wife Carolyn, and Chuck Ulm and wife Mary Ann, all of Noble; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Joe and wife Rose Buerster, Don and wife Donna Buerster, and Diane Herdes and husband Dennis, all of Noble.
Mr. Ulm was preceded in death by his father.
