Martha L. Volk, 93, of Olney, Illinois, passed away at 4:40 p.m., Monday, March 28, 2011 at Richland Memorial Hospital, Olney.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 31, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Wendelin, IL with Reverend Father Marc Stec officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 30, 2011 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home, Olney and visitation Thursday morning one hour before service. Burial will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery, Wendelin. In loving memory of Martha, memorials may be made to Holy Cross Catholic Church. Online condolences may be left at www.summers-kistler.com.
 Martha was born March 28, 1918 in Jasper County, IL, the daughter of Leo and Margaret (Ament) Fehrenbacher. She married John Volk on April 11, 1939 in Holy Cross Church; he preceded her on June 25, 1996. Martha was a homemaker and a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church.
She is survived by three daughters, Patricia Shew of Newton, Kay Stark of Olney and Darlene (Ed) Guathier of Dover, TN; grandchildren, Brad Shew, Tammy Rudolphi, Jennifer Marshall, Sherry Geier, Tom Stark, Jason Stark and Kelly Schmidt.
Martha was preceded in death by her husband, parents, daughter Gladys, granddaughter Kimberly Stark, brother Cletus Fehrenbacher and sister Anna Volk.
